B – Blogs
Keeping a blog on your website is great for uploading regular content. What’s even better is that you can share your articles across your Social Media pages. You’ll be able to share content that is relevant to your audience as well as give them information that is valuable. Perhaps a how-to guide or even top tips on using a particular product. Keep it interesting and you’ll always have engagement!
C – Connections
If you want to grow your Social Media presence, you need to grow your connections. Whether this is connecting with others in the industry on LinkedIn or getting new followers on Twitter, connecting is the way you get your company out there and noticed. Think of it as a huge spider’s web. The more you connect, the more you’ll get noticed and get custom from new people. It all comes with a little patience and dedication.
D – Discover
Some Social Media Sites such as Twitter, have a tool to see what is trending at the moment and what people are speaking about. If you’re ever struggling for content, this is a sneaky way to see what people are searching for! You can tailor your content to fit any trending topics, but don’t forget to keep it relevant and infrequent.
E – Engagement
What is the point of being on Social Media if you’re not tracking your engagement? There isn’t one! Do you know who your audience are and what sort of content they like or topics they like to hear about? If not, this is a crucial change you need to make. An easy way to see this information is by regularly looking at Insights and Analytics on each of your Social Media platforms.
F – Facebook
Possibly the most popular Social Media platform around, Facebook is a great tool for Social Media Marketing for your business. It has a huge 1.32 billion daily users, so getting a business page set up gives you loads of exposure to the right people. Setting up a Facebook business account couldn’t be easier. Facebook marketing will really help get your content noticed.
G – GIF
GIF’s are basically animated images or short videos that run on a loop. They’re usually used on Social Media today to get a laugh or two from your followers, but can also be used to show something your business is working on or a short snippet of your serviced being used. Be creative with them and they could just work in your favour!
H – Hashtags
Doing your research before inserting any hashtags is key. You need to know what is trending, what people search for and what topics are linked to your business. Finding the right balance and using the right hashtags when posting content on your Social Media pages is the trick to getting a few more readers, and maybe even some new followers too.
I – Instagram
The photo and video sharing platform that is Instagram can be a great platform to use for your business, providing you have lots of thing to show off! Instagram is primarily used on a mobile, so is great to use out and about with a few filters thrown in for good measure. Again, Instagram has it’s own Insights tool, so you can easily see what’s working in terms of content.
J – Jargon
Okay, we shoved this one in to get you used to researching different terms that you may come across when working on your Social Media. If there’s anything you don’t understand, research it for yourself. You’ll be surprised at what you could learn!
K – Klout
Klout is a tool on the web that allows you to create and share great content for your followers. It can suggest content that is shareable and that your followers may not have seen. It also tracks the performance of any content so you can see it’s popularity.
L – LinkedIn
The Social Media site for businesses. LinkedIn is a professional platform where business owners and company staff go to connect with others in the industry as well as where keen and determined job seekers go to get that career they’ve dreamed of. It allows businesses to find potential clients as well as connect with colleagues.
M – Mentions
Tagging others in posts gets people talking. It’s true! Tagging a company you’re working with or referencing in an article for example is a way to get noticed by new people, who may also be a fan of the pages you’re mentioning. It’s also nice to acknowledge a company you’ve been involved with in any way, the same as you would tag your friends in your own personal accounts!
