5 Social Media Problems You Need To Solve

When running your pages, you’ll more than likely encounter some Social Media problems.

Sometimes, you may not even realise they’re problems. Every business hits the odd wall every now and then. Where something just won’t go right or you get writer’s block halfway through a blog post. You’re not alone!

However, you can’t just shrug them off. If you’re facing some Social Media marketing problems, that must mean that there’s something that needs addressing. Something in your strategy that may need altering to make sure you don’t run into more problems in the future. We run through 5 of the most common problems faced by businesses when implementing their strategy, that are actually pretty easy to fix.

Social Media isn’t just updating your Facebook status and putting a filter on an Instagram photo. It’s about creating engaging content, drawing in your potential customers and tracking your every move to make sure you’re keeping up with the latest trends. The reputation of your business is at stake if you don’t solve these problems; your customers will begin to lose trust in you and sales will begin to drop. Before it gets to that stage, spot the problems early and make some changes.

1. Be on more than one Social Media platform.

If you just stick to a single platform, you’ll not be able to reach all the possible customers who are just on other platforms. We know that deciding which platforms to be on can be quite a challenging task, especially if you’re not too familiar with them. We don’t expect any business to be on a huge list of platforms that it’s impossible to keep on top of, but we do know that being on the right ones can be invaluable to your business.

The first thing to take into account when looking into the right social media platforms for you, is your audience. Your audience and customers are what make the world of business spin on it’s axis so it’s pretty important to put these people at the forefront of your strategy. You need to find out where your audience spend most of their time, so doing a little research into the demographics of each social media platform is a great place to start. You’ll be able to see where your potential customers spend most of their time and it will be easy to see which networks should be avoided too.

However, when you’ve done all this, you’ll always get fake accounts, or accounts following yours that are necessarily ‘audience’. Just be careful and don’t could these as potential customers. Remove them if needed!

2. Improving your Social Media marketing strategy.

You can’t expect to get anywhere on Social Media without a great strategy for your business, and there’s always room for a little more improvement here and there. We know how daunting it can be, especially if you don’t even have a Social Media marketing strategy in place to start with. There are so many things you can do to improve what you do on Social Media. So much in fact that we could probably write a list longer than your arm! A couple of key things you need to consider are your insights and content. Social media insights and analytics review how your posts are doing, your followers’ information and what content your audience like to see the most. The content you’re creating also need to be interesting and varied to cater for all your followers and to grab the attention of new ones.

3. Communicate with your followers.

Your followers are your audience. If you were in a shop serving a customer, you wouldn’t ignore them. So, why do it on Social Media? If it wasn’t for customers, your business wouldn’t even be running, so giving them a little of your time will go a long way. Answering your customers when they comment on a piece of content is a good why to prove you’re not a robot and it gives them a little bit of reassurance that your company is the one to be associated with. Your followers may also send you direct messages, and Facebook in particular rates you on how quickly you respond to messages. The better you get at this, the more your followers will be inclined to ask more questions in future. Be sure to personalise any responses too – you’ll automatically appear more friendly.

4. Post different types of content.

This is a common mistake for some business and one that you need to make sure you don’t do! If you post the same old text based content day in day out, your followers will be bored. Oh so bored! Would you want to engage with content that wasn’t visually appealing? Perhaps not. It may not even be a case of boring content. The information your present may be extremely interesting, but if it doesn’t get noticed, no one will know about it! Make sure you have a good range of content types and you’re sure to get more engagement.

5. Measuring ROI.

Are all your Social Media Marketing efforts worth it? Make sure your business goals are in place and measure ROI. What are you getting back from all your work? Have your sales increased through your new Social Media strategy? Making sure you’re sharing and linking back to your site is a key way to get more sales in and promote your brand further.

Visiting these issues and amending your strategy can be just the thing your business needs to grow your online presence. You can soon say goodbye to those Social Media problems that have been bugging you for a while!
